Kyaw Htoo Bala (1992), born in Myanmar, is an artist with a multidisciplinary approach. He graduated in Fine Arts from Lasalle College of The Arts, Singapore in 2017. Bala’s work merges bold symbolism with personal and collective trauma, reflects on political turmoil, cultural identity, and the inner conflict of those navigating Myanmar’s challenging socio-political landscape. Bala’s artistic range encompasses painting, photography, printmaking, sculpting, collage, videography and digital art. In 2021, Bala founded Monologue Art Space in Yangon, Myanmar, providing a platform for artistic exploration and collaboration. Currently, Bala works at his studio in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
