Zun Ei Phyu @ Zun Ei, is a medical doctor, artist and expressive art psychotherapist based in Yangon, Myanmar. Zun Ei pursued her career in visual art for over 20 years. Zun Ei’s primary interest concerns public participatory art works and community art projects. Main themes of her works are social and ecological issues related to children and elderly people. During the different crises in her country and around the world, her works become involved in peace, justice and psychosocial rebuilding toward resiliency. Her artworks are collected not only locally but also internationally. She is one of the founder of Tharaphy Healing Space where she facilitates many psychotherapy and healing workshops using expressive art therapy since 2019. She was involved in many international art projects and worked with different communities across South East Asia and some European countries. She is a fellow of Mekhong Cultural Hub and one of the member of 5 SEA countries( Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Indonesia) collective group called SEA*5 Team. Artist Statement
I had been participating over 10 abroad exhibitions at Austria, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thai- land, Japan, and Indonesia from 2011-2017. And 2 solo exhibitions at Tokyo, Japan and Kuala Lumpure, Malaysia . I also participated in more than 20 groups’ exhibition in Myanmar including an exhibition at National Museum, Myanmar since 1999 till now.I was selected as Young Talented Artist by Ion Orchard Singapore for Affordable Art Fair Singapore 2015. I was included in “Myanmar Painting-from worship to self-imaging” Book by Evoheritage, Vietnam, as young female artist. I got Golden Price in Fukuoka Child Art Competition (1997).On 2011, I went for 2weeks art exchange program at Bali, Ubud, Indone- sia. On 2012 I went for 3 months “creators’ artist in residency” program at Tokyo Wonder Site, Tokyo, Japan where I also gave Artist Talk at Tokyo Art University. On 2014 I went for 2months residency at Rimbun Dahan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. And on 2015 I went for 2 weeks “Cross Border International”
